The Mohawk drive in site now has a Kohl's store and strip mall.
I had many good times at the Mohawk.

I grew up in Colonie and this was part of my life growing up. My mom use to take me there in my PJ's to see movies all the time. Then in HS it was the place to go with your date.(wink wink )The 4th of July fireworks there were great. So was the playground and the dancing hot dogs.

What memories! From when I was a little boy and we packed into the car with homemade popcorn and candy...to when we snuck in under the back fence when we were teenagers. Got caught almost every time. Love the PICS and what an icon it was. Would be great to see an older one with the indian on it.

Does anyone know what was playing at Mohawk Drive-in on March 25, 1966 - the night I was conceived?

@#4. Love Child

Well, Love Child, since it was March in upstate NY, it was very unlikely that the drive-in was even open then. You weren't conceived at the drive-in anyway, it was at the Madison theatre in Albany (back row). I don't remember what was playing, but from what I recall, you mom was pretty drunk and had a mild case of herpes. By the way, are you coming home for Thanksgiving this year?
Love,
Dad

I had a lot of great times @ the Mohawk Drive-in, first with my parents loading us in the car with pillow's, blanket's & snack's, & then when I got my own car. I took pictures of the demolition of the Drive-in, & I remember when they they started taking down the combination Drive-in sign / movie screen, that they found that the entire sign was made up of large asbestos panel's which created a huge problem for the contractor @ the time. I still miss that great old landmark. ;-)
