I'm a Drive-In lover/historian in Michigan and I know how precious tidbits of information are to the history of Drive-Ins in our respective regions. A few years ago, I purchased the contents of the Seneca Drive-In's projection room on Ebay for $99.99. I got two carbon arc projectors, the rectifiers that supplied the power, a film rewinder, and the speaker switching system. Unfortunately, scrappers broke into the building where these items were stored and stole everything but the two projectors. One of the two projectors has appeared, as a featured prop, in a locally produced TV show called "Wolfman Mac's Chiller Drive-In." The projection room/concession stand of the Seneca Drive-in had fallen into very bad condition. The property was being used as some sort of mobile home graveyard and the owners were clearing the property. The marquee structure was still standing at the time, but it no longer had any visible reference to the Seneca Drive-In. Rest assured, the projectors, though not in operational condition, will live on into the future.
